Part 7

Tiff, Tuff and Kirby had ran back to the castle before finally stopping to catch their breath. “I hope Meta Knight’ll be okay against that monster.” Tiff worriedly said, looking back the way they had come. “We outta tell Sword Knight and Blade Knight about this!’ Tuff suggested. His sister nodded and they ran further into the castle to search for the knights.

Sword and Blade had thoroughly investigated the throne room including the teleporter and had finally come across a small receipt dated today’s date. Nothing much else was on the paper, except for the price, yet it was proof that Dedede had ordered a monster. “Looks like we have proof, Blade. Let’s go tell Meta Knight!” “He went after Kirby.” Blade reminded him. Sword nodded and they left to search the castle for Meta Knight.

As luck would have it, the kids ran into Sword and Blade after a short while of searching. “Sword, Blade, boy are we glad to see you!” Tiff exclaimed. “Meta Knight’s fightin a monster!” Tuff explained. “It’s Wolfwrath!” both cried at the same time. Sword and Blade had their hands on the hilts of their swords in an instant. “Where are they fightin?” Sword asked. “Whispy Woods,” Tiff said “we’ll lead you there. C’mon!” Together they ran back to the forest.

When they arrived at the part in the forest where Wolfwrath had attacked there was nothing to be found. Sword and Blade searched the nearby area with calls of “Meta Knight!” to which there was no answer. Finally the two knights approached the children. “There’s no sign of Meta Knight or Wolfwrath,” Sword began, “its also getting late. We should head back to the castle,” Blade finished looking up at the darkening sky. They were about to head back when a nearby bush began to rustle. Sword and Blade kept holding onto the hilts of their swords, prepared for a sneak attack. Instead, out of the bush came the little fox Tiff, Tuff and Kirby had found in the castle earlier. Upon seeing Kirby, the fox’s face lit up and it ran over to the young star warrior, who gently picked it up again and showed it to Tiff “poyo?”. Tiff happily sighed, “ok Kirby. It can stay with you tonight, but tomorrow we’ll try to talk to Whispy again, got it?” Kirby nodded and they all left the forest.

Meta Knight and Sailor Dee had taken a different path to the castle and in doing so had missed his knights and the children. Upon entering the castle they both headed for the throne room only to find Sword and Blade gone. “Come Sailor Dee, we shall return to our room and await Sword and Blade’s return.” The Waddle Dee silently obeyed.

Tiff, Tuff, Sword and Blade left Kirby and the fox at Kirby’s house and they went back to the castle. Kirby put the fox down on his bed and the small creature walked onto his pillow and fell asleep. Kirby yawned and crawled into bed. He didn’t need a pillow and was asleep in minutes.

Back at the castle Tiff and Tuff had gone to bed and Sword and Blade decided to check in Meta Knight’s room before searching the entire castle and all of dreamland for him. Meta Knight was almost asleep when the knock came on his door. Sailor Dee also awoke from his small sleeping bag, which was a temporary bed until Meta Knight could find him a bed of his own. Meta Knight walked over to the door and opened it to see Sword and Blade. “Meta Knight!” Sword happily cried. Blade added “its good to see you’re alright.” Sword nodded and continued, “We heard you were fighting Wolfwrath! We went to search for you but you were nowhere to be found! We also found out that Dedede did order another monster today, although we’re not sure what type it is. All we found was a reciept.” “Do you think it might be Wolfwrath?” Blade questioned. “We do not know for sure,” Meta Knight replied, “however I did confront Wolfwrath in Whispy Woods, yet it fled before it attacked. I tried to follow it but I lost sight of it.” Before anyone else could say anything a cry came down the corridor “Gooba! Gooba!” followed by Dedede. He found the knights standing at Meta Knight’s door “hey! Meta Knight!” At the sound of the king’s voice Sailor Dee ran and hid in his hiding place, “You seen a baby fox ‘round here?” “A baby fox?” Meta Knight repeated, “no I have not. Sword, Blade, have you?” ‘Actually, yeah,” Sword answered, “we found him in Whispy Woods.” “He took a liking to Kirby and Kirby took him home,” Blade finished. “So my little fox is with Kirby?” Dedede asked. “It would appear that is correct sire,” Meta Knight answered, “although it is getting late. Perhaps tomorrow Kirby can give you your fox back.” Dedede yawned “perhaps you’re right Meta Knight. I’m hittin the hay.” He yawed again and headed off back to his room, hiding the smile on his face.

The minute Dedede was out of earshot Meta Knight quickly spoke up “quick! Kirby is in danger! We must save him!” He turned to Sailor Dee, who had come out of his hiding place, and spoke “Sailor Dee, you stay here.” He, Sword and Blade unsheathed their swords and ran out of the castle towards Kirby’s house. As luck would have it, Tiff had a weird feeling that something wasn’t right and decided to take a peak around the castle when she saw Meta Knight, Sword and Blade go running. Kirby…she thought before following them. A moment later Tuff appeared at the door “sis, you ok?” Rubbing his eyes he saw Tiff running after Sword, Blade and Meta Knight. “Tiff, wait for me!” he called as he followed them.

Meanwhile, at Kirby’s house, the little fox opened one eye. After sensing no movement from Kirby he opened the other eye and jumped down onto the floor where he transformed into Wolfwrath again. He growled at the pink puffball, that was soundly asleep, and raised its clawed paw, ready to strike…
