Misconception: Revenge
Ch.11
Silver was holding Shadow in his physic grasp when he sensed something wasn’t right. He worriedly glanced in the direction Tails and Sonic had went. Sonic didn’t look like he could walk, yet they had gone off to investigate the rumblings. There was a minor earthquake shortly thereafter, and then nothing but silence. Something was wrong, he could feel it in every fiber of his body. Something was terribly wrong, and he needed to do something. He lowered his hold on Shadow, who remained on the ground, holding his head in pain; then the white hedgehog took off in pursuit of Sonic.

Shadow had been trying to get to Rouge when a bolt of pain raced between his temples and the ground shook at the same time. The combination of the two brought him to his knees, and he held his head, waiting for either the pain to cease or for a flashback to occur. The ground shook a second time and he slipped into unconsciousness.
I was walking through some woods when the ground opened up beneath my feet. I was suddenly in space, staring at the ARK. I heard a voice “Shadow.” Turning around, I saw the black creature…the one called…Black Doom? Yes, that was it. He had promised to tell me the truth if I collected all seven chaos emeralds for him. Black Doom pointed down to the ARK. “This will remind you…what the humans did to you…” Looking down, I saw myself and that girl…Maria! Yes, Maria, my only friend in the entire universe. We were running past several windows on the ARK, and I, floating in space, had a perfect view. I knew what was going to happen, but I had no power to stop it. I could only watch…
Then I was on the ARK, I was leading Maria by the hand…trying to escape. Behind us, several well-armed government agents were pursuing us. Not just me…Maria too! I was supposed to not only be a secret, I was to have never existed! And Maria…she knew too much! As we ran, shouts of “Come back!” and “Stop!” followed us, but we kept running. We both knew that if we stopped, it would be all over…for both of us…
I don’t remember how, but I would up inside an escape pod, and Maria was setting it for launch. “Shadow…promise me…” She began, when the door slid open. And in the doorway stood that horrible soldier with the green eyes and the familiar voice…he was very short for a soldier. Almost as tall as myself. He pointed his gun at Maria, and said in that familiar voice “Stop! Don’t pull that lever!” Maria shook her head at him, who commanded her to stop again. She looked at me, and those tear-filled eyes pleaded ‘promise me‘…’And her final words, “Sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog.”
Maria was shot as she launched me to Earth.
Suddenly, I was confronting black doom. He was telling me that…that he helped create me…and that I was responsible for the ‘accident’ on the ARK…however I knew too much, and therefore I must be destroyed…he began to attack…
Shadow woke with a start and stood up. His memories were returning, bit by bit. But he needed that document that Rouge had…she had gone off to the hospital with that fox…but he came back…so Rouge is alone. And she can’t fly. I’ll get her to talk! There’s no escape! He ran off towards the city, not even giving a second thought to where Silver might be.
