running…running…running down a long corridor…I was…holding-leading-someone down the hallway…leading them by the arm…hand…by the hand…fear…fear…fear…
“Hey Shadow. How’re ya feelin’?”
Shadow’s eyes shot open and he glared up at the owner of the voice. Blue fur…green eyes…dear God. It was Sonic.
“What do you want?” He glared at Sonic, who just shrugged. Shadow growled how dare he interrupt me when I was so close to remembering my past… Shadow clenched his eyes shut and tried to remember the flashback that had just occurred…
holding a hand…leading…alone…together…a hallway…fear…darkness… nothing. It was hopeless-the vision had faded. Shadow tried harder to remember…and a bolt of pain raced across his temples. The pain was so intense that shadow only vaguely felt his knees buckle and vaguely knew that he had fallen to his knees. In the distance, he head Sonic’s voice, “Shadow? Shadow! Are you alright?! Answer meeeeeeeeeeee…”
I was in a capsule aboard Space Colony ARK, and somebody I deeply cared for…someone I would…I would kill for…was about to launch me to Earth and sacrifice themselves for me. I was pleading with them to let me stay, fight for them…
the door slid open. A soldier stood there, dressed in a G.U.N uniform, green eyes piercing the darkness, a gun targeting the one I cared for…
the gun was fired.

I was launched toward the planet…
“Shadow! Shadow wake up!”
Shadow sat up with a start. He didn’t look it, but he was covered in cold sweat and shaking. Sonic was kneeling in front of him. As Shadow recovered from his dream, he began to feel humiliated. To collapse like that, in front of Sonic, his biggest rival. He sat up, glared his piercing red eyes into Sonic’s green ones, and was about to tell Sonic that he was fine, and that Sonic should leave him alone, when his voice caught in his throat. The soldier on the ARK…the one that fired the gun…he had green eyes, just like Sonic. Just like Sonic…Sonic…
Could Sonic be linked to my past? Could he…could he even be part of it?
