Ch.6
…and were emptied out into darkness. They couldn’t see anything, even each other. “Girls?” Blossom called out. She felt someone touch her arm and heard Bubbles’ voice “I’m here Blossom.” a moment later she felt someone touch her other arm and heard Buttercup “yeah, I’m here too. Where is this place?” “I’m not sure” Blossom said, trying to make out anything in the darkness. Bubbles whimpered, she was scared of the dark, and this total blackness was one of her worst fears.
Suddenly they heard a *click* and the place instantly lit up. The girls shielded their eyes from the brightness until their eyes adjusted then gazed around where they had landed.
It appeared to be an underground cave, only entirely lit up. There were stalactites and stalagmites everywhere and the place smelled of earth. “girls,” Blossom ordered, striking up a battle-ready pose, “be prepared for anything!” Her sisters followed suit yet they weren’t prepared for what happened next. The entire cave began to tremble and stalactites fell from the roof, forcing the girls to fly away from each other in order to dodge them.
The trembling stopped and there was a brief silence in which the girls flew back together. Then Him’s laugh echoed through the cavern “ahahahahahahahahaha Powerpuffs. You’ve solved all my riddles and came to get your beloved father back.” Him materialized, holding a bound and gagged Professor by one claw. He set the Professor on some flat ground then faced the girls and continued “you know the rules. I win and destroy you all.” “You mean we win,” Blossom shot back and Bubbles continued “and we get the Professor back!” Buttercup added “and we get to kick your butt!” Him smirked and snapped his claws twice. “Then let’s begin!” He flew forward and tackled Buttercup. They flew through the air, heading for a stalagmite, before Buttercup regained control and zapped her eyebeams at Him, knocking him off her and allowing her to stop and hover inches above the spike.
“What’s the plan, Blossom?” Bubbles asked as Him prepared for another attack. “I’m thinking!” Blossom said, trying to figure out which of their plans was the best for fighting without bringing the entire cave down upon them all. Him stood up and snapped his claws once again “you’d better think faster! There’s a part to this I haven’t told you yet,” he smirked and continued “I was the one that caused the drought! I thought I’d let the city suffer a little before destroying it! And that’s not even the best part!” At this, Him spread his arms out. Way high up on a wall of the underground cavern, a screen materialized and flickered to life. On screen was the city of Townsville in a backdrop. Over the city lay a giant cloud. Him snapped his claws again and snow began to fall onto the city. “There now,” Him stated, watching the snow fall, “in a matter of hours the entire city will be covered in snow. And that’s not all, girls. Once I dispose of you and the Professor, my next priority will be to destroy Townsville, and what better way than a flood? Just imagine all that snow suddenly melting and flooding the city! It’ll be-” He was cut off as the girls flew into him full force and sent him flying into a wall. The cavern shook and some small rocks fell from the ceiling. He got up, growling with anger but only managed to take a step before the girls were on him with punches and kicks. While Him had been deep in his monolog, Blossom had told the girls their plan. The space was too small and fragile for a super-human battle, and Him was well aware of this, since it gave him an advantage. Their only hope was to get the Professor and get out of there before Him brought the cave down on them.
Buttercup caught a glimpse from Blossom and nodded, flying over to the Professor and picking him up. She was about to signal her sisters when they were sent flying towards her. She didn’t have time to dodge and the four of them were sent flying to the other side of the cave. They got up from the rubble and simultaneously asked “Professor, are you ok?” Utonium, still bound and gagged, could only nod. “C’mon girls, let’s get outta here!” Blossom ordered. They picked up the Professor and started to fly towards the ceiling. “Buttercup, cyclo-drill! Bubbles!” Blossom ordered. Her sisters nodded and both let go of their dad. Buttercup flew past Blossom and the Professor until she reached the top of the cave, then began to fly very fast in a circle until she had created a tornado. The cyclone turned upside down and began to drill into the ceiling, making a way to the ground above. “You’re not getting away from me that easy!” Him roared and noisily snapped his claws. The sound vibrations shook the already unstable cave which finally gave in. Blossom and the Professor shot up through the hole Buttercup had made before the entire place began to collapse. “No!” Him shouted, his victory just beyond his reach. He glared down at Bubbles, who had merely been there to make sure that Him didn’t get to the others while they got away, and tried to grab her. He missed, she flew up into the air and was about to leave before she turned and faced Him, “don’t you ever hurt the Professor again!” “And if I do?” Him asked with an evil grin. Bubbles returned it and unleashed a sonic scream. She flew up through the still-untouched hole leaving Him to be crushed by the cave he had challenged them in.
The flight up was disastrous, Bubbles nearly got hit several times by falling rocks and eventually has to sonic scream her way out of some blocked areas. She finally surfaced to find her sisters and the Professor, no longer bound or gagged, not too far away. They were hovering slightly above the ground, each helping to keep the Professor in the air, and it was only when Bubbles looked down at her feet did she remember about the snow. Over a foot had already fallen, and it had only been a few minutes. There was no sign of it letting up. “So what now Bloss?” Buttercup asked. Blossom thought for a moment before saying “I got it! Professor, you stay here,” she and Buttercup lowered the Professor to the ground before she continued, “girls, come with me!” “Right!” her sisters agreed and together they shot towards the cloud. They reached the outskirts of Townsville as well as the edge of the cloud “Girls…there’s no attack for this one. This cloud has to go! We’ll blow it back to the artic, it can snow as much as it wants up there! You with me?” Her sisters nodded and together the three of them began to blow at the cloud. At first nothing happened, but finally the cloud began to move. It took some time before it had left the city and was in Townsville bay, but the longer they blew at it the quicker it flew.
An unknown time later they had finally arrived at the artic where the cloud had come to a stop and the snow was actually falling slower than before. “Good job girls,” Blossom said, “now lets head home.”
They arrived back in Townsville to see most of the snow already gone. The drought had left the earth needing water and the minute the snow had landed it had been sucked into the ground. What had been over a foot was now only a few inches. They found the Professor where they had left him and the flew into him in a big hug. The could only hug for a moment though, for a moment later the entire city began to alarm. “What is that?” Buttercup asked, holding her ears. “it’s the sound of every store in Townsville being robbed from every villain that thinks we‘re gone!” Blossom answered. They separated from the Professor who smiled “thanks, girls. Not just from me, but from Townsville too. Now go do what you do best!” The girls grinned at each other “yeah!” and flew off into the city.

Epilogue
The girls made their re-appearance, much to the dismay of several villains who now were in prison cells, and had rid the streets of crime in a relatively short time. Mojo and the Gangreen Gang were in jail, the Amoeba Boys, Fuzzy Lumpkins and Princess were ignored. That night, as the Professor was tucking the girls in, Blossom asked “Professor, do you think we did a good job. Rescuing you, I mean. I’m sorry we took forever, but-” The Professor cut her off with his hand, which he then put on her head and replied “you did excellent, honey. All of you did. And I know you always will, too.”
He turned off the light and closed the door…
…and that’s all there is. There isn’t any more.
