                                                             ~~~
The city of Townsville gleamed as the sunlight shone on the skyscrapers. People were busy doing their jobs, and the Powerpuff Girls were not flying over the city, as one might expect. No, today, they felt like walking. They were strolling down the sidewalk, side-by-side, licking ice-cream cones. There had been no crime for what seemed like weeks, yet it had only been a few days. Still, it was a time of no crime, and the girls were enjoying every moment of it. As they walked, they talked to one another about what they thought all the villains were doing. "They're all too scared of us to do any more crimes!" Buttercup said, a little upset at the lapse of action. "It might be they‘ve gone on holiday." Blossom said. "I agree with Blossom." Bubbles added. They continued to walk down the street, when suddenly a giant robot foot landed right in front of them. They looked up, way up, and spotted a dome on top, where the robot's head would've been. They slowly took a step back. The robot was bigger than any monster they've ever fought. Finally a voice came out of an inner speaker. "Good afternoon girls," came out Mojo's voice, "how about finishing those ice-cream, because they’re going to be your last meal.” The girls looked from his dome to each other, then to the ice cream. In an instant, the girls were gone, and the three ice creams spun in the air, before splattering all over the pavement. The girls were hovering in the air, the same height that the robot's head was located. "Like I said a couple days ago," Buttercup said, "I don't mind being on vacation, but I really miss bustin' some heads. And now it looks like the perfect opportunity." They continued to hover, waiting to block any attack that Mojo might have in store.
Mojo decided to open his battle with a couple of missiles. They were small, but the girls knew that they were probably very powerful, so when he launched them, they flew out of the way. However, when the girls got back into position, they heard something coming at them. Spinning around, the gasped as they realized that those missiles were target missiles. They flew out of the way again, but the missiles turned on a dime and headed toward the girls again. Blossom looked behind her and realized that the missiles, although still far off, were undoubtedly faster than they were. “Girls” Blossom called, “we’ve got to make these things destroy one another!” Her sisters nodded and togetherthey flew into an alley that they knew was a dead-end. They turned to face the oncoming weapons and Blossom said “When I say go, fly up.” Her sisters nodded, and a moment later Blossom said “ready…NOW!” They flew straight up and the missiles, crashed into the brick wall at the end of the alley. “Yeah!” They cheered, giving each other a high five. “Now all that’s left it to take care of one minor pest,” Buttercup said, glancing over in the distance to where Mojo’s robot was visible. “Let’s go!” Blossom ordered, and they all took off toward Mojo, unaware of what he still had in store.
Mojo saw the three streaks of light as the Powerpuff girls flew in for an attack. He pushed a couple of buttons and one of the robotic hands retracted into the arm, and out of it came two small metal poles that were tilted towards each other, and between them was a ball of yellow light. The girls stopped in mid-air and Buttercup asked, “what the heck is that thing?” “I don’t know,” Blossom replied, “but stay away from it.” “Yeah, sure, all we need is to attack at a distance.” Buttercup said as she flew up and fired her eyebeams. Mojo directed the arm and her eyebeams hit the yellow light, turning it a deep red-orange, and it began to grow. “Buttercup, look out!” Blossom and Bubbles cried. Buttercup turned to her sisters with a confused look, and that gave Mojo all the time he needed to fire the beam of energy straight at her. Buttercup had just enough time to see the light and give a scream of terror before she was engulfed by it. Blossom and Bubbles, their hands covering their mouths, could only float and watch it happen. Finally, the light subsided, and Buttercup fell, motionless out of the sky, landing in the street below. “Buttercup!” Bubbles cried. Blossom glared at Mojo who said, “one down, two to go! You will soon be joining your sister!” Blossom’s mind was blank, she couldn’t think of anything. They were in trouble. This was Mojo’s toughest robot yet, and even if Buttercup wasn’t gone, she definitely needed professional help, and fast. If they fought Mojo, they might not get Buttercup to a hospital in time, and still Blossom didn’t want to turn away and let her guard down for even a moment. She was finally able to think and ordered, “Bubbles, take Buttercup to the hospital. I’ll deal with Mojo.” Bubbles nodded, and flew down to where Buttercup was. Mojo saw this however, and proclaimed, “you should know to never let your guard down while in a battle!” As he said this, he threw another ball of light. “Not this time, Mojo.” Blossom said and used her ice breath to freeze the ball. Bubbles saw it coming and hit it, shattering it into tiny pieces. She immediately grabbed Buttercup and flew off towards the direction of the hospital. Blossom wanted to watch them go, but knew better. She hovered in front of Mojo, awaiting his next attack.
The other robot's hand turned into a laser gun, and Blossom hovered, ready to dodge anything he threw at her. "Blossom!" Bubbles called as she flew over. "Bubbles," Blossom said, turning to her sister, "how's Buttercup?" "Not to good," Bubbles replied, "the doctors don't know what type of ray hit her, so they don't know how to help." Suddenly, a ray of red light flew right over Blossom's head. They began to fly around, trying to regroup, but the lasers wouldn't stop. Finally, Bubbles was able to fly near Blossom, who said, "no time for chit-chat now. Plan Omega-Beta 1!” But, before they could carry out their plan, another laser cut between them, forcing them further apart. "Now what, Blossom?" Bubbles asked, concerned. "Give me...a moment...to think," she responded, glancing around, looking for something that could help them...
Professor Utonium was sitting back, relaxing and enjoying one of his favorite movies, when an urgent report appeared on the screen. He sat up, because he knew that whatever it was, it concerned the girls. “I’m Annett Chambers, reporting live from Downtown Townsville, where it seems as if Mojo Jojo has built another robot and is rampaging around…” As the Professor watched, he noticed the streaks of pink and blue flying towards the robot. Wait a minute, he thought, where’s Buttercup? With the concern for his girls, he got up and ran out the door…
Blossom shot her eyebeams at the Robo Jojo, but they just bounced off. She also tried her ice breath, but that didn’t work either. The robot’s hand changed back into regular hands, and the tip of one of the fingers bent open, releasing a cloud of yellow mist. “Bubbles, look out!” Blossom called, but too late. Bubbles saw it and accidentally gasped it in, then started to cough. Blossom flew over asking, “are you okay?” “Y-yeah *cough*, I’m okay,” she said, then added, “and I think I know how to bring that robot…” She mouthed the word “down” but no sound came out. “Bubbles, are you…” Blossom began, then stopped. “You can’t speak, can you?” She asked. Bubbles opened her mouth, closed it, then hung and shook her head. “That yellow mist…it stopped your voice! (Something clicked inside Blossom’s head) Bubbles, were you going to use your sonic attack against the robot?” Bubbles nodded, and Blossom continued, “that’s how we destroy the robot!” Bubbles nodded happily, and Blossom continued, “Oh, Bubbles, only your sonic attacks are powerful enough, mine and Buttercup’s are okay, and that’s when were combined…we need to think of another way to beat Mojo. You with me?” Bubbles nodded, and Blossom ordered, “okay, let’s attack him with everything we got!” Bubbles nodded again, and they both shot off towards the robot…
In the hospital, tons of doctors surrounded a bed. In it was Buttercup, not moving. The only assurance that she was still alive was the heart monitor attached to her, constantly beeping. Suddenly, Professor Utonium ran in and stopped dead at the sight of his daughter. One of the doctors, a woman, moved aside and let him get closer to the bed. He gazed down at her, eyes full of tears…hang in there, sweetie he thought, we’ll save you…
Blossom cringed as the robot’s new ray gun fired at her and just missed. Too close…she thought we gotta find a way to beat this thing, but how? Bubbles waved her arms to get Blossom’s attention, and mouthed, “what are we gonna do, Blossom?” “I don’t know,” Blossom whispered, her vacant eyes turned towards the ground, he arms down uselessly by her sides, unprepared for an attack. She didn’t notice the ray gun as it locked on her, didn’t hear Bubbles’ gasp of fright. All she could do was float there, thinking I don’t know…I don’t know…
In the hospital, Buttercup stirred. The Professor sat up and watched as Buttercup opened her eyes and gazed around the room. The Professor had been sitting there for a while, the doctors had all gone off. Finally, he saw her eyes settle on him. “Professor, wha-” “Shhh…now, now sweetie, relax. You’re in the hospital.” “The girls! Mojo!” Buttercup yelled, sitting up and pulling off the heart monitor, which fell to giving a continuous beep. “I gotta help them!” She yelled, flying out the window. “Buttercup, come back!” The Professor yelled as she flew off, nothing but a streak of green visible, “you’re not fully healed…”
I don’t know…I don’t know…Blossom thought, unaware of the action that was taking place around her. Bubbles saw the robot fire a ray of lime-green light, and she hesitated for a second before flying off to get Blossom out of harm’s way. But as she neared Blossom, she realized that she would never make it in time. Blossom looked up just in time to notice the laser, and gave a quick scream of terror as the light engulfed her, sending her plummeting towards the ground. Bubbles caught her, then lowered her down onto the street, and checked for a heartbeat. Relief washed over her as she found it, even though it sounded weak, it was a sure sign that she was still alive. “Is Blossom okay?” Buttercup asked, flying over. Bubbles opened her mouth, then closed it again. “Whatsa matter? Can’t you speak?” Bubbles shook her head, then pointed to Blossom then to herself. “You’re gonna take Blossom to the hospital, huh?” Bubbles nodded, then pointed to Buttercup then to the robot and made punching movements with her fists. “And you want me to fight the robot.” Bubbles nodded, then pointed to her wrist, as if she was wearing a watch. “And you’re gonna be back soon?” Bubbles nodded, then mouthed the words “be careful.” Buttercup nodded, and said, “I will be.” Bubbles hugged her, picked up Blossom, and flew off while Buttercup went for the robot…
The Professor sat in the hospital room, staring at the bed, lost in thought. Buttercup’s off fighting crime…I hope she’ll be okay…she should be. She’s a Powerpuff girl. I’ve seen what they can live through! And she’s got her sisters to help her…but I’m still worried…suddenly several doctors rushed into the room with someone and were followed by Bubbles and a doctor. “Bubbles,” the Professor gasped, “what happened?” He looked over and noticed Blossom lying on the bed. Oh no he thought not Blossom too! “I’ve been trying to get her to talk,” the doctor said, “but I’m afraid she can’t or doesn’t want to speak.” The Professor looked worried, but tried to hide it. Bubbles tugged on his pant leg to get his attention, and pretended to draw. The Professor’s face lit up. “Doctor,” he said, “go get Bubbles some paper and crayons.”
Buttercup encircled the robot, looking for a weak spot. Not finding any, she shot her eyebeams. However, they were reflected right back at her. She dodged it, but just barely. This robot’s tough…but there has to be a way to take it down she thought. She started flying towards it, dodging the missiles and lasers it fired at her, until she got within striking distance. However, the robot swung one of it’s arms, slamming into her and sending her flying through a couple of buildings. She got up from the rubble and thought man, that thing is fast! But I can be faster! And with a battle cry, she took off towards the robot once more…
Bubbles held up her finished drawings. It began with the Robo Jojo firing a missile, then to her as she flew towards Blossom, then to Blossom and the ray hitting her. “I see,” the doctor said, “and your voice?” Bubbles held up more drawings that had the robot with the open finger, the yellow mist in the air, she breathing it in, herself coughing, and then her opening her mouth with a speech bubble but no words. They nodded, and the Professor worriedly glanced over to Blossom, lying on the bed. He turned back in time to see a streak of blue as Bubbles left the room.
Buttercup dodged the lasers and wondered where is Bubbles? As if on cue, she appeared, and Buttercup said, “’bout time! I have an idea! Watch this!” She flew towards the robot, dodging the multiple lasers and missiles it threw at her. Once more, she got within striking distance, and the robot tried to hit her again. But this time, she flew under the arm and headed towards the cockpit, where Mojo sat. “Huh?” Mojo said as he noticed Buttercup flying towards him. In a flash, Buttercup flew through the cockpit, and the robot stood, motionless. Buttercup flew down towards Bubbles and dropped Mojo between them, who gave a yelp and ran off. Buttercup smirked at Bubbles, who nodded happily, and the two of them raced off after him. “Ha-ha!” Mojo said, whipping out a remote, “you may think you have won, but this battle’s not over yet!” He started pushing buttons, and the robot turned around, bent down, and held out it’s arm, which Mojo jumped onto, and ran up to the cockpit where he began to control the robot again. Buttercup looked at Bubbles, who shrugged. “We have to beat this stupid robot, Bubbles!” But how…
As they hovered there, wondering how to attack, they heard a familiar voice, “hey guys!” Turning, they saw Blossom flying towards them. Bubbles smiled and waved and Buttercup asked, “you better?” “Course I am,” she replied, as they landed on the ground “but does anybody have any idea how to beat this thing.” They looked up at the towering robot, who’s shadow they were under. Buttercup shrugged, but Bubbles’ face lit up, and she began to make punching movements. “That’s not working, Bubbles.” Blossom said, but Bubbles shook her head, made even more punching movements, and pointed to the heart of the robot. “I get it…” Blossom said. “What, what?” Buttercup asked, perplexed. “Just watch.” Blossom replied with a grin. She zipped towards the robot, which immediately issued an assault of lasers, all of which she dodged. It tried to block her with its arm, but she got around it. “I think you’re losing your touch, Mojo.” She said as she flew directly into the robot’s heart, which instantly exploded into a fireball, which made the robot wobble. Before it fell, the whole thing burst into flame. “Blossom!” Buttercup called. Bubbles didn’t mouth anything, she just had the saddest tears in her eyes. “Look!” Buttercup said, pointing. It was hard to see due to all the smoke, but they could just make out Mojo’s figure, falling safely to the ground with the aid of a parachute. They flew at him, but he threw some liquid on them. Soaking wet, Bubbles and Buttercup fell to the ground and got up in time to see Mojo‘s silhouette running through the smoke away from them. “Mojo… he…he got away, and Blossom is…” Buttercup said. Bubbles hung her head, and Buttercup thought Blossom…no…it can’t be…. As they both stood before the burning fireball, only their figures visible, Buttercup took hold of Bubbles’ hand, and they both walked off, as the sound of fire trucks, police cars and ambulances approached. They didn’t feel like facing the media anytime soon…
Unbeknownst to Bubbles and Buttercup, Blossom was hiding in a nearby alleyway. After watching the robot explode, she sank to the ground, hugging her knees to her chest. With a gasp of pain, she pulled her arm off her leg and, examining it, saw that she was bleeding. The sound of approaching footsteps caught her attention, and she pinned herself against the brick wall she was sitting in front of. She suddenly realized that whoever it was would be able to see her, so she crawled behind some garbage cans and peered around one of them. The person passed by the alleyway: Mojo Jojo. What’s he doing? She wondered, better find out…She got up and walked after him, keeping a good distance between them. I may be powerless, she thought, I might not stand a chance. But I have to find out what he’s up to. Glancing around, she realized her sisters were not there. I’ve got to find out what he’s done with Bubbles and Buttercup!
At home, Bubbles and Buttercup were sitting in their room. “D’ya think there’s any chance at all that Blossom might be alive?” Bubbles asked, who had recently got her voice back. “Of course there’s a chance,” Buttercup replied, “but it’s very slim.” “Still,” Bubbles said, hovering, “we should go and see if we can find her. And if it’s too late *sniff*, then we should teach Mojo a lesson for toying with our emotions!” “You’re right, Bubbles,” Buttercup said, “Mojo’s gonna pay!” Bubbles wiped her eyes clear of tears, and smiled at her sister. “Right,” Buttercup said, looking out the window to the city, just a shadow before the setting sun.
Blossom followed Mojo back to his lair, and was climbing the stairs, determined to find her sisters, whom she believed were there. However, she was mistaken, and would have realized had she only glanced around. For behind her were the unmistakable colors of her sisters flying off to where the robot was. Huffing and puffing, she was out of breath by the time she reached the top. After catching her breath, she tried the door. To her surprise, it opened, and she ventured within.
She started to walk around, glancing in all directions for anywhere that Mojo or her sisters could be. It was eerily quiet, and she nearly jumped when she heard a noise in the shadows. Spinning around, she started to back up, until she was up against something metal. At first she thought it was just the wall, but logic made her face reality. Mojo did have heat, so the walls would not be as cold as this piece of metal. Also, his observatory was round, and she could fell the corners of it. And third, walls don’t make a sound like that of a laser warming up. “Hello Blossom.” With a gasp of terror, Blossom spun around. Mojo walked out of the shadows holding a remote control, next to the metal thing that Blossom was just against. And as he walked out of the shadows, the setting sun was able to shine it’s light into the room, slowly coving the wall behind Mojo and the metal object was suddenly visible as a gigantic laser. Blossom stood there, too shocked to speak, move or even think, as the laser locked onto her heart…
She suddenly took in a deep breath and screamed, “HELP!” Luckily, since Buttercup and Bubbles were nearby, they were able to hear her. “Blossom’s in trouble,” Bubbles said. “No duh,” Buttercup said, “I heard her. Let’s go!”
Mojo got ready to fire the laser, and Blossom began to run from it when Bubbles and Buttercup crashed in through the roof. Hesitating for a second, Buttercup flew over and grabbed Blossom, right before the laser hit. Handing her over to Bubbles, she asked, “what happened to you?” “I’ll explain later,” she said, “right now we have to get out of here!” “I’m so happy to see you!” Bubbles exclaimed, then added, “can you fly?” Blossom shook her head. Bubbles put her atop her own shoulders. As they fled, Blossom looked behind her and gasped as she saw Mojo strap on a jetpack and grab a ray gun. “Faster,” she yelled over the roaring wind to Bubbles. They picked up speed, but Blossom could still see Mojo behind them. “He’s gaining!” She yelled again. “Where to, Bubbles?” Buttercup asked. “Home,” Bubbles said, “we have to fix up Blossom first.” “Agreed.” Buttercup said. Suddenly a beam came out of nowhere, almost hitting Buttercup. Behind them, Mojo cackled. “I don’t know,” Buttercup said, “he’ll probably come in and try to harm the Professor.” “We have to give Blossom her powers back.” Bubbles said. “And,” Blossom added, “we should have Professor look at this.” She held out her arm, where the cut had stopped bleeding, but didn’t look healed. “when did you get that?” Buttercup asked while Bubbles gaped. “I’ll explain when we get home,” she said, then added, “hurry!” as another beam soared over her head.
The chase continued through the city. Around buildings, down and up alleys, all the while avoiding the beams from Mojo’s gun. Blossom was just hanging on. Once in a while, either Bubbles or Buttercup would fire an eyebeam, hoping to hit him, but he would just dodge, and the girls were trying not to damage any buildings. It was pure luck that Mojo didn’t hit any of the buildings when they had finally reached the suburbs. As they neared the house, Buttercup pulled back, yelling, “I’ll hold Mojo off! Get Blossom some help!” Bubbles flew inside and straight into the lab, where the Professor was working. He glanced over and did a double take as he saw the cut on her arm. “What happened,” he asked. But before she could reply, there was a blood-curdling scream from outside. “Buttercup!” Bubbles cried. “Go out and help Buttercup, I’ll tend to Blossom.” He said. Bubbles nodded and left the lab. “I hope she’ll be okay out there,” he said, “I worry about you girls.”
Bubbles flew out the front door and saw Buttercup cradling her arm and looking like she was in pain. Overhead, Mojo cackled. Buttercup looked up at Bubbles, who noticed the tear streaks down her face. She’s been crying Bubbles thought. “Mojo fired his laser, so I put my arm up to defend myself…and the laser grazed my arm.” She finished by showing Bubbles her arm, which had a long, but shallow cut on it. “I don’t know how he did it,” Buttercup said, “but he hurt me. That laser actually hurt. Really hurt! Also, now I can’t move it without hurting myself. And now he’s gonna pay!” The old Buttercup kicked in as she jumped into the air and flew straight at Mojo. He tried to fire the laser, but it was out of firepower. Panicking, Mojo fled, with Buttercup on his heels. Bubbles flew back inside, she needed help if they were going to take on Mojo with a weapon of that magnitude of pain and destruction, and Buttercup was hurt. She only hoped that Blossom was well enough to fight.
“There you go, sweetie.” The Professor said as he finished bandaging up her arm. “Thanks, Professor!” Blossom said happily. The Professor nodded, then turned to her and said, “Blossom…” but he was cut off as Bubbles flew into the lab. “Bubbles,” Blossom said, “where’s Buttercup?” “She went after Mojo. Blossom, I need your help. Buttercup is hurt. That ray gun that Mojo has can actually hurt us. The laser cut her arm. It’s not a deep cut, but it still looks pretty bad.”. Blossom stood up. “Professor, I’m going to help.” Suddenly, the door to the lab burst open and Mojo came flying in. “Mojo.” Blossom gasped. “Where’s Buttercup!” Bubbles demanded. “If you mean your sister, I shot her down on my way to my observatory. It seemed my gun had one last hit left.” Mojo smirked. “Professor, run!” Blossom yelled. The Professor stood there until Blossom yelled for him to run again. He finally snapped to his senses and tried to run, but Mojo fired his laser and it hit some equipment that fell onto the Professor. “Professor!” Bubbles cried. “I’m okay,” he said, “but I can’t move. The equipment’s too heavy.” Mojo flew over to a counter grabbed a vial, and threw it’s contents onto the girls. Blossom managed to fly out of the way, but Bubbles wasn’t so lucky. She fell onto the table and Blossom knew what it was-antidote X. “Run girls!” The Professor cried. Blossom grabbed Bubbles hand and flew out of the lab, carrying Bubbles with her. Mojo stayed where he was and smirked, looking down at the Professor.
Bubbles and Blossom hid behind their sofa as they head Mojo’s jetpack; he was nearby. Laughing maniacally, he flew out the door, most likely to his lab. Blossom and Bubbles went down to the lab to see if the Professor was all right. He was gagged and tied to a chair, and looked up when the girls ran in. “Professor!” Bubbles cried. Blossom ran down the steps, took the rag out of his mouth, and untied him. “Oh thank goodness you girls are alright,” the Professor said, grabbing both of them in a hug. “Professor,” Blossom said, “we’ve got to stop Mojo and rescue Buttercup. But Bubbles’ll need her powers back.” The Professor walked over to a vial of chemical X and splashed it on Bubbles, who now stood there, soaking wet. “Sorry,” the Professor said sheepishly, while Blossom giggled. Bubbles shook herself dry like an animal, which only made Blossom giggle even harder. “C’mon,” Blossom said, jumping into the air, “we gotta stop Mojo!” Bubbles nodded and they zipped off towards Townsville.
While they were flying to Mojo’s, Bubbles stopped, pointed down and said “look!” Below them, someone was laying on the ground. “it’s Buttercup,” Blossom said, landing next to her. Finding a pulse, she continued, “she’s out cold.” Suddenly, Buttercup began to stir. “Hold on,” Blossom said, “I think she’s coming around…” Buttercup opened her eyes and looked up at Blossom while Bubbles squealed with delight overhead. “Yo Red,” she said. She sounded weak, but quickly sounded like her old self again. “where’s the monkey? I’ll rip him to shreds!” “What happened,” Blossom asked. “He shot at me and was able to hit me, I fell to the ground and next thing I know your in my face.” She thought for a moment before continuing “By the way, you never told us what happened to you.” Bubbles landed next to her and Blossom said, “I flew into the robot. It erupted into a fireball, but you girls know we can withstand heat. Well, after that I crashed through another wall of steel and right into a bunch of antidote X in a gas form. With my last bit of strength I flew out of the robot and landed, and the whole thing exploded, sending tiny bits of metal everywhere. A small piece came flying and hit my arm, probably because I was powerless. I saw Mojo jump out and, fearing for my safety, fled into a nearby alleyway. I saw Mojo walk by but didn’t see you two. “We went home,” Buttercup said, “Mojo escaped and we needed to think. Continue.” “Thinking that Mojo had taken you both hostage I followed him to his lair.” She finished. Her sisters nodded. “Now c’mon,” Blossom said, “let’s get Mojo!” And the three of them once again set off for Mojo’s lair,
Before they had even gotten close to his volcano-top observatory, they could see Mojo. He was standing outside his door, watching them as they approached. In his hand was a very mean-looking weapon. The minute they were in range he began to fire a deep-purple colored laser. At first they were small beams that the girls were able to dodge. Blossom fired her eyebeams but Mojo fired a laser and the two cancelled each other out. Bubbles used her sonic scream, but it had the same effect. Buttercup created a green tornado and flew towards Mojo, who fired the gun into the tornado. It struck Buttercup who flew backwards into her sisters, who caught her. They were about to let her go when she yelled “wait! Don’t drop me! That laser shorted out my powers!” Blossom lifted her onto her back and said “Bubbles, I need to take Buttercup back so she can get her powers back. I’ll be back in a minute.” Bubbles nodded and Blossom flew off. Mojo increased the size of the laser and fired one at Bubbles, who dodged it and flew straight at Mojo, who fired another at Bubbles. With no time to dodge, Bubbles flew at the laser…
Blossom and Buttercup heard the explosion from outside their house.
