Sonic had left Tails’ garage for a nice run, when he spotted Amy running towards him. Sonic sighed, he knew what this was about: Amy was going to ask him to lunch again, which would make the third time this week. He dearly regretted telling Amy that he would go to lunch with her sometime that week just to get her off his back. And now he had to hold up his end of the deal. It was the end of the week, the last day he could keep his promise to her, since he had turned down her other invitations. He dearly wanted to run, it was a perfect day for it, yet he knew what he had to do. Oh well, at least I can say I did something for her. After all, she’s not all that bad to hang around with. Also, after this outing I can run as fast and free as I want! Amy stopped in front of Sonic and gave him a little white flower “for you, my dearest Sonic.” “Thanks Amy.” Sonic took the flower and stuck it behind his ear, which made Amy giggle. She took his hand, and the two of them walked away.

Knuckles stared at Shadow, wondering how much he should tell the hedgehog, before stating “I’m ashamed to admit it, but I don’t know all there is about the power of the emeralds. However I do know this: The Master Emerald controls the power of the chaos emeralds. The servers are the seven chaos. Chaos is power enriched by the heart.” Shadow looked down at his emerald and repeated “enriched by the heart…” The emerald started to glow, and Shadow chaos controlled away. Knuckles stood there, wondering if he’d said to much.

Eggman was in his newest hidden base, an operational underwater cave. Nobody, not even that blasted hedgehog Sonic would be able to find this base, and even if anyone did find it, there was no way they could reach it. The only ones who did know about it were him and Shadow, who was out at the moment. In the peace of his secret lair, he could devise his plans for word conquest. As he sat there, drawing up blueprints for his machines, a flash of light caught his attention. Looking up, he saw Shadow appear. The hedgehog got right to the point. “Doctor, tell me about my past.” “Maybe if I had a chaos emerald, my mind would clear up.” Eggman stated, looking at Shadow’s. The hedgehog raised his hand, and sparks of energy emitted from his hand. “I will not pay you, Doctor. Now tell me about my past. You know.” “Okay, okay Shadow, I’ll tell you.” Shadow lowered his hand, yet kept his eyes locked on the Doctor’s, in case he was fibbing.
“You were created 50 years ago by Professor Gerald Robotnik, a scientific genius and my grandfather. You lived on the space colony with him and his crew. “Yes. I know that much already doctor,” Shadow said, his first starting to spark with electricity “now, if you value your life, you will tell me the entire truth about who I am.”

Amy and Sonic had finally agreed on where to eat, and had a nice picnic in a beautiful field near some mountains. The whole area had a nice romantic feeling about it, and even Sonic felt a bit more relaxed; enjoying his lunch and Amy’s company much more than he thought he would. “Oh, Sonic, isn’t this the most romantic place in the world?” Amy asked, cuddling right up to Sonic, who hesitated before allowing her to put her head on his shoulder. “Yeah…I pass this place every now and then on one of my runs. Its nice, but the grass isn’t sturdy enough and if I run through it, I slow down. I try not to run thorough here if I can. Its beautiful to look at from afar, or to have a picnic in, but it can ruin a perfect sprint.” Amy pulled away from him (which surprised him) and looked down at the ground, hugging her legs. “Sonic…can I ask you something?” Sonic, his mouth full of food, simply nodded.
“Sonic…” Amy started, looking straight into his eyes, “why do you like to run so much?”
