Ch. 2

“Are you crazy, Mojo? We’d never make a deal like that!” Blossom said, she and Buttercup stepping in front of their sister. “Than you do not get the second riddle. Good day.” Mojo said, turned around and walked away. A voice made him stop “Wait!” It was Bubbles. She flew over to him “I’ll join you.” “Bubbles!” Buttercup cried, “you can’t do this!” Blossom continued. “It’s the only way to get the Professor back,” Bubbles said with tears in her eyes, “and I want him back.” Mojo grinned triumphantly and said “then, Powerpuffs, follow me back to my observatory to retrieve the second clue.”

They arrived at the volcano-top observatory and Mojo let them in. He turned to the girls “Bubbles, you come with me. Blossom, Buttercup, you stay put, do not move, do not re-locate yourself to a different area. I will be back momentarily with the second clue.” He walked away. The girls hugged “don’t worry,” Blossom said, “we’ll find some way to get you back.” Bubbles smiled at them then flew after Mojo. The monkey returned moments later with a piece of paper. Bubbles was not with him. “Here” he said, giving the paper to Blossom, “take it and get out of my observatory before I decide to destroy you!” She took it and she and Buttercup got out of there as quick as possible. Once back in Townsville Park, they looked at the second clue:

                                              Well, look at the both of you
                                  Without your powers, but with the second clue.
                                         I see and hear all, that’s how I know
                                    And now I’ll tell you where you need to go.
                                      In Townsville Forest you’ll find clue three
                                           Which will bring you closer to me.
                                     However this quest must come with a cost:
                                     You mustn’t regain those powers you lost.
                                 To make the game fair for you powerless puffs
                                     I won’t make the villains quite as tough.
                                   They all have to obey my every command:
                                 I’ll make them go easy on you just as planned.
                                     Try not to get sent to your doom
                                  It wouldn’t be fun for the game to end so soon.
                                   However remember that you are still timed
                                 And the clock still ticks as you read my rhyme.
                                    Remember, if you not able to save the day
                                    Your dear Professor is the one who’ll pay!

“Townsville forest…he must mean Fuzzy Lumpkins has the third clue!” Blossom said. “I don’t get how you got that?” Buttercup said, looking over the riddle again, “but you’ll just have to explain it later. C’mon!” Together they sprinted across Townsville towards Townsville forest.

They had never entered the forest on foot before, but thanks to Blossom’s memory pf the different trees around Fuzzy’s cabin they were able to get there around nightfall. They had sprinted all the way, and were out of breath. We…we’re…here.” Buttercup said, gasping for breath, “n…now what…” “Now…” Blossom said, also between gasps for air, “now we…ask Fuzzy…for the clue…” After getting their second wind, they approached the cabin and Buttercup knocked a few times. From inside they could hear Fuzzy snoring away. The girls both knew that nothing would wake up that creature. Luckily, the door was unlocked, so they both went in. fuzzy was in a corner, asleep in his rocker, his boom stick next to him. On a table in the middle of the room sat a piece of paper. They walked over to it, and Blossom took a quick look at it before nodding to Buttercup. Unbeknownst to them, Him was watching their every move and was furious that they were going to get away with the third clue so quickly. He reached over and picked up a microphone, then softly spoke into it…

Blossom and Buttercup were about to leave when they heard a snort and some grumbling. Fuzzy was waking up! They both turned and saw with horror that the beast had woken up, and wasn’t too happy to find the Powerpuff girls in his home. Neither of them saw the red smoke wrap around the clue, changing the words, before it dissolved. “Powerpuffs!” Fuzzy roared, “git offa mah properteh!” He reached over for his boom stick but the girls were already out the door. As they ran through the woods, Blossom leading the way back to town, they heard Fuzzy shoot a few times and curse a few times before the sound of a slamming door and all was quiet. Under the moonlight on the outskirts of Townsville forest Blossom and Buttercup read the third clue:

                                    You little brats! That wasn’t the plan!
                          Fuzzy should’ve been up when you stepped on his land!
                                  You got lucky, but that’s the last time!
                                  I’ll make it harder to solve this rhyme!
                                      In the city lies clue number four
                             Five people hold it and have something in store
                               For when you girls come to take the next clue
                               I’ll tell you right now, this won’t be easy to do.
                                    Also, because you’ve been doing so well
                                     I’ve cut the time, how long-I won’t tell!
                                       No time to sleep-better hurry along
                               Don’t make it in time and the Professor is gone!

“Ugh! That’s not fair!” Buttercup cried, “he’s making it even harder on us!” “No time for complaints now,” Blossom said, “we’ve gotta move! C’mon!” Together they ran back into Townsville…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mojo led Bubbles towards a big machine that resembled a time machine. “Now Bubbles, this won’t hurt a bit. All this machine will do is make you forget about being a Powerpuff girl, as well as your feelings for your sisters. Evil villains don’t have time for sibling affections, especially if those siblings are the Powerpuff Girls.” “But I don’t wanna forget about my sisters. I love them. They’re my family!” “And after you’ve been in this machine, they will be your most hated enemies!” Before Bubbles could protest some more, Mojo pushed her into it and quickly closed it. Inside, she hit and kicked, trying to get out. Mojo grinned; he hadn’t told her that the machine was made of polyduranium, the only known substance in the universe which could withstand the power of a Powerpuff. The chamber filled with a yellow smoke. Several minutes later, Mojo turned off the machine. The smoke inside evaporated and Bubbles stepped out. She cleared her head, walked over to Mojo, and knelt at his feet. “Lord Mojo” she said, “I am at your every command.” Mojo triumphantly laughed as Bubbles continued to kneel by his feet.
