Days 15-30

As Kirby sat in Meta Knight’s room, reading his log book, Tiff and Tuff went into the Monster Delivery room while Meta Knight stood watch outside. The room was dark and obviously empty. “Where could DDD be?” Tiff asked. “I don’t know,” Tuff replied, “but it can’t be good.” They left the room, reported to Meta Knight that DDD wasn’t in there, and decided to see if he had gone down to Kappy Town. They headed out of the castle, unaware that Kirby was actually several floors below them, lost in a book of memories…

Day 15:

I spent today looking for a job. Just a small one so I could make the money I need to pay for the parts for a spacecraft. I applied to three places and was hired to teach sword fighting to a group of people. I begin tomorrow.

Day 16:

The first class went well. It is comprised of only five students: two females named Christine and Jasmine as well as three males named James, Toby and Michael. They are all young adults and were already quite knowledgeable with swords before the class had even started. They would make fine soldiers with enough training, however I do not have enough time to train an army to take down Nightmare. Every day that passes means another planet is in trouble; I am well aware of that. My class will continue training tomorrow.

Day 21:

It has been one week since my class has begun to practice swordplay, and each individual has shown great potential for a future soldier. I have already planned to come back to this planet in several years to check on the progress of these fine people, and if my battle against Nightmare has not ended before then, I plan to enlist them into my army.
I also received my pay for the week, which was actually quite a lot. I gave a portion of it to Smith, the old man who had taken me in. He has provided me with food and shelter and I did not feel right having him pay for my living needs. I still have quite a bit of money left with which to buy the parts to make a spacecraft. My stay on this planet will not be for much longer.

Day 22:

I did not have to teach my class today. Instead I ventured into the city with Smith and bought several parts that would be appropriate for a spacecraft. Smith took me to a shop where two young men known only as Thomson and Thomson built custom machines if given the parts. They appeared overjoyed when I requested a spaceship; apparently it had been their dream to build one. I showed them the parts I already possessed and together we went over several blueprints of different spaceships. Most of them were giant crafts the likes of which could easily fit one of Nightmare’s armies. I did not feel like these were the ones I would use to soar the skies; at least not now, at the start of my journey. We finally agreed on a smaller model. It is small, can seat about four people and is very quick, even when taking off and landing.

Day 23:

I do not have sword fighting classes today. I spent the morning re-reading my log book and at noon I went for a walk around town. In the afternoon I went to the Thomson brothers and discussed other parts of the craft I would need to purchase. After that, I went around town again, locating the stores that sold the objects I would need to purchase. Afterwards I went home and prepared for tomorrow’s class.

Day 29:

Another week has passed by. I taught my class, which has show great improvement since day one, and received another week’s worth of pay. Again, I gave a portion to Smith and bought more parts for my spacecraft. I was able to go to the Thompson brothers before they closed and delivered the parts I had bought. They said they could begin to construct the craft tomorrow and I could come by and see them work. I agreed and went home.

Day 30:

Today marks the one month anniversary of my escape from Nightmare. I am amazed that I have lived an entire thirty days without Nightmare or his monsters attacking me or this little planet. Yet I also feel as if I am falling behind. Thirty days since I have left Nightmare’s army means thirty days for him to attack other planets and kill other species. I am going to stop him and was hoping to achieve that goal soon, but after one month all I have to show for my efforts is the beginnings of a spacecraft. I vow that I will get off this planet as soon as possible. Tomorrow I will begin seeking capable soldiers to begin my army.
