Days 7-14

Day 7:

     It has been one week since I had quit Nightmare’s army. The other day I went into the town (the flames had all burned out), where I found no survivors, and very little to scavenge. I feel I am alone on this planet; I hear no creatures in the wood where I stay. My food is dwindling, and I must leave this place and begin my plan to defeat Nightmare. The odds are against me, yet I have nothing to lose. My plan is simple enough: travel to other planets and gather up an army of my own with which to battle the monsters. However, I do not plan on it being easy, as many will decline.
     First I must get off this planet. Without Nightmare, I have no means of leaving. Yesterday I walked from dawn to dusk and found no other villages around. I dare not leave the wood after dark; I hear strange sounds coming from the town. I am almost positive that there are monsters Nightmare sent. That beast will not rest until he lays his eyes upon my cold, unmoving body.
     I fear that I may perish here. Without means of escape, monsters about, no weapons and very little rations, I am doomed.

Day 9:

     The food is gone. After close examination of the forest leaves and plants I have found them lacking in nutritional value. Even if I were to eat them, I would still not survive. I fear my end is at hand.

Day 14:

     I have arrived on the planet Mimlin, where I have found food, shelter, and help. Perhaps I should explain how I came here.
     The night after I ran out of food I decided to go into town and face the monsters. If I could kill one of them, I could probably live off it for a while. I took a sharp tree branch and a rock and headed into the village. As I approached, I could see many forms moving about in the darkness. I came closer and heard a monstrous screech from above. I ducked in time to avoid the talons of a pterodactyl-like monster, then ran for the town.
     As I entered, I saw many monsters prowling about. Many immediately noticed me and ran forward to attack. I knew the twig and pebble in my hand would not do anything against these brutes. I threw them at the group of monsters and ran. I ran around many houses and piles of debris, trying to create some distance. As I began to tire out, I ran into the nearest house I could find, which was actually intact. I had caught my breath when, with a shriek, the roof was torn right off the house. I noticed the same bird-like monster from before as it dropped the roof and came back for me. Quickly looking around, I noticed some firewood tied up in a corner. As the monster approached, I was able to untie the rope and turned to face the monster. It swooped down, beak open, and I jumped up (holding an end of the rope in each hand) landing on its head. It’s beak closed around the string. It crashed into the wall, breaking it, and I feared that I would fall amidst the rubble. However, we safely escaped and I found myself airborne on a monster. I knew that this might have been my only chance to escape, so, using the rope as reins, I steered the beast into the sky. As far as I could see, there was nothing except farm land for miles and miles. I knew that I could not ride a monster forever; I needed a craft of my own. This planet had mostly farming equipment; I was almost certain that there was nothing left for me here, so I steered the beast higher into the sky. Soon enough I found myself beyond the clouds and in the darkness of space. Millions of stars provided little light as I lead the monster away from Rolfred. After two days of flying I noticed a planet not too far off. I steered the creature towards the planet.
     As I came closer and closer towards the planet’s surface, the monster began to screech and try to knock me off. The first time I managed to stay on; the second time, however, I was sent flying, the rope still in my hand. As I fell towards certain doom, I looked back and saw the beast fly off back into space: probably back to Nightmare. Before long he would know of my relocation. I needed a space ship so I could travel among the planets without fear. But it was too late now: I was going to fall to my death. As I came closer and closer to the planet, I was able to see green and gray, which soon became trees and buildings-a city! Despite my oncoming demise, I couldn’t help but feel proud that I had escaped Nightmare, got off Rolfred and was now on another planet! I saw the ground approaching fast, and I clenched my eyes shut.
     Unfortunately for him, an old man just so happened to be walking and was right under me when I fell on him. I laid still for an unknown amount of time before I heard a gruff voice “get off of me.” I sat up and looked around before getting off the old man. I was shocked that I had survived, but thanked him nonetheless. He was twice as tall as me, however he got up with some difficulty, and walked off, grumbling under his breath. I watched him walk off when a thought suddenly crossed my mind: he hadn’t screamed nor run at the sight of me. Did he know that I was a monster?
      I spent the first night in an alley, sleeping under some old newspaper. I was awoken the next morning by a familiar voice. It was the old man I fell on yesterday! I sat in the alley, rubbing my eyes as I listened to his proposition. He told me that, although he was not used to small creatures flying through the air, he was not cold-hearted. He told me that, if I chose to, I could live with him. I agreed and followed him out of the alley. As we walked towards his home, he asked my name and where I was from. I decided that I would tell him everything. He saved my life; he deserved the truth. “My name is Meta Knight. I come from a distant planet, and am here to find willing and capable fighters. I plan to build an army to destroy Nightmare and his monster armies.” The old man laughed and told me that the odds were against me; it was impossible. However, he agreed to help me in any way that he could. I told him that I needed a space ship to travel to different planets, as well as provisions for long voyages. “You’re really set on this,” the man had said, “well, the best of luck to you. You’ve arrived on the planet Mimlin. This is the Northwest county of the planet. This area has plenty of different material for building all types of stuff.” The rest of the day we spent touring the main buildings in the area, and I quickly found several places where I could find pieces to build a spacecraft. Many of the buildings’ surfaces reflected the area, and more than once I saw my reflection. Small, round, blue. I looked like a child’s toy ball. There was no way anyone could mistake me for a monster.
                                                                                 ~~~
     Kirby’s stomach growled. He put the book down and glanced around the room, until he found a small jar of candy. “Poyo!” the star warrior squealed, putting the book down and running over to the jar. He brought it back to where he was sitting, and picked the book back up. He sat back down, eating candy with 1 hand and holding the journal with the other. This was getting interesting…
