Ch.2

When Blossom woke the next morning she found it odd that she was on the sofa. She sat up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. What an odd dream. She got up and walked into the kitchen where the Rowdyruffs were sitting. As she stared at them the events of yesterday came rushing back to her and she realized that it hadn’t been a dream. She looked down at the floor, was able to hold back her tears, and joined the boys for breakfast. Between spoonfuls of cereal she spoke to them, “I don’t know how long I’ll be stuck in this time period, so I might as well make the best of it. Is Townsville public library still around?” They nodded. “Good,” she continued, “then I’ll go there today and do some research. I want to find out about what happened to the Powerpuff Girls.”

As she prepared to leave the house later, Butch came up to her and handed her a small vial of black liquid. “Luckily for us our ancestors also found the formula for Chemical X.” Blossom poured some on herself and started to float off the ground. “Thanks, Butch!” She called as she zipped out of the house.

At the library Blossom sat at a computer and read newspaper articles about her and her sisters. She read about the many times she and her sisters had saved Townsville, as well as that time they played tag in the city. After a short while she came across articles about battles they hadn’t even fought yet. Eventually, she found one of great interest.

Powerpuff Girls Destroyed

Townsville Suffers its Greatest Loss

Yesterday, Wednesday, November 16, 2003. A typical day for many. Except for the Powerpuff Girls. Today they are no longer among us. In a battle against Mojo Jojo, the deranged simian who lived upon Townsville Volcano Mountain, the girls lost their lives. No one is sure about what actually transpired, but the fact remains they’re gone.

The article continued on about funeral arrangements and quotes from the civilians about how much they missed the girls. Blossom had to stop reading as her eyes swelled up with tears. She went to other articles after their deaths and read about what Townsville was up to.

War of Villains Begins

Lock your doors and windows. Check up on all your insurances. The battle of the villains is among us. With the Powerpuff Girls gone, many villains from all over are waging a great battle to see who will rule us all…

War of Villains Finally Ends

Finally the blood slaughter is over. The death count is rising as more bodies are found. After a brief appearance by Him, he has declared himself the victor of the war. The only other villains that have been seen around Townsville have been the Rowdyruff Boys. Cleanup begins…

Mayor and Professor Utonium Die

Within 3 Days of Each other

Blossom’s eyes widened as she read: Townsville mourns the deaths of two very significant people in our lives; the Mayor and Professor Utonium. The Mayor, dying at the age of 83, left his secretary Mrs. Bellum as the new mayor and left behind a legacy of alerting the Powerpuff Girls and saving the day. Professor Utonium died three days later at the age of 72. Doctors found him to be in good health and presumed he died of a broken heart. He created the Powerpuff Girls and left behind a city that he has greatly helped…

Rowdyruff Boys Become Townsville’s Saviors

Townsville may have lost the Powerpuff Girls but luckily some new superheroes have arrived on the scene: The Rowdyruff Boys. Created by the late Mojo Jojo they used to be the Powerpuff Girls’ archenemies. Nowadays they can be seen soaring through the skies and stopping crimes wherever they find them. Townsville…

Blossom left the library a little later, many questions answered and only a few remained. Will the Professor get me back to my own time before November 16? Will I ever get back? Does he even know that I’m stuck in the future?

…As she rounded the corner, she stopped. A giant ominous shadow loomed over her and against the brick wall in front of her. She spun around and with one last shuddering breath screamed into the dark night sky as the thing lunged itself at her…

Blossom sat up on the sofa, breathing heavily. This was the third night in a row she had that dream. She had been in the future for five days and she greatly missed her family.

Back in her own time the Professor spent as much time as possible trying to fix the time machine. “It’s kind of complicated,” he told his daughters, “but if I can fix the machine I just might be able to trace where she landed and bring her back.”
